Coloring pages can also be a good way to make money if you are free landscape artist. If you can reproduce any character from cartoons or fairy tales, you can draw sketches of them and sell them, either online, either to a library store that can sell them and give you a part of the profit. You can also say that some people use the sketches as they are, black and white, without coloring them. The printable ones can also be used to make stickers and such. One disadvantage of printable pages in general is that they need paper, and as we know paper is made out of trees, and the planet needs trees to survive, but a good thing is that paper can also be recycled. In the near future, we’ll probably see more and more online coloring pages, but the feeling won’t be the same though.
They are also popular because they can enhance the brain and they are useful because they help with the imagination of a child, and the way he perceives colors and shapes. It is recommended that a child should use colors and get used to coloring book from an early age, so that his creative side can grow and he can even become a painter or any other kind of artist. Another popular line of coloring pages for kids is the one with Barbie, the perfect doll, wanted by every little girl in the world. Coloring pages with Barbie can be found almost everywhere and they represent Barbie and her friends and family, along with Ken, in different landscapes and even stories.
On TheDollPalace.com, for example, dolls of every shape and size are available for children to play with and create, and then favorites are created into coloring pages. When dolls and coloring pages are complete, there are still interesting articles to read, personalities about the dolls to create, contests to take part in, and even forums and chats to visit to get to know other doll and coloring enthusiasts. While coloring pages may seem simple in the minds of parents and other adults these days, they are often the passport into a more creative style of play. Yes, your child will simply color the picture online, but by doing so, she is learning not only to stay inside the lines, but to balance color and texture and to simply use her imagination. If a coloring page for kids is the first step into a full-fledged imagination based entertainment package, it is unlikely many parents will find them simple for long.
The benefits of coloring pages: 1) Self expression – coloring on a blank ”canvas” (piece of paper), is a way for children and adults alike to express themselves. You can tell a lot about the way a person is feeling by the images that they draw, the colors that they use, etc. It is important to give children a chance to express themselves, and not all children express themselves through words and through writing, many use art. 2) Color recognition. 3) Therapy – for many people (myself included) coloring is therapeutic. Regardless of whether it’s scribbling, or coloring the ”best picture ever”, coloring can be a way to de-stress, after a busy morning of school work, wind down, and calm down, after the stresses of a day at school or work. 4) Grip/Control – many children learn how to hold a pencil, pen, marker, or colored pencil, by first learning how to hold a crayon. The small muscles needed for penmanship later begin to be developed while coloring. 5) Coordination. 6) Building motor skills. 7) Focus – Paying attention to a single task for a length of time is necessary for coloring and for all sorts of things throughout one’s life. 8) Boundaries – Another thing that children learn from coloring pages, with preprinted pictures on them, is how to accept boundaries. While a toddler or preschooler might scribble all over a coloring sheet, with no respect for the boundaries (lines on the coloring page), as the child gets older, they will begin to respect those lines, and make an effort to color between them. While I encourage blank paper coloring for free expression as often as possible, for many preschoolers pre-printed coloring pages are their first exposure to printed boundaries. This early exposure to boundaries in print, will be a huge help when handwriting time comes around, and the child has to respect the boundaries of the preprinted handwriting lines on the paper. 9) Milestone – This is the last little ”importance” of coloring that I will mention for now, and that is that coloring in the lines is a milestone, a sense of accomplishment, the first step towards a successful academic career for many children. For many children coloring in the lines is just as important as counting to 10, counting to 100, reciting the alphabet, learning the multiplication facts, and so forth. It’s a milestone that says ”yes I can” do whatever I come across, and it provides children with pride, a sense of self worth, and helps them to feel accepted in a society that is often quick to judge, and slow to respond. This sense of accomplishment will carry them through life, and help them not to give up so easily, when something new comes along.
2. Imaginations Run Wild: While decorating these pages, kids will often times experiment with various colors. How many times have you seen a smurf colored princess? With dinosaurs, kids will let their imaginations run wild, as they may be talking to the dinosaurs, or about the dinosaurs, or telling stories while they color in the page. Building an imagination is one of those important life skills in a well rounded individual that should be encouraged at a young age. 3. Interested in the Topic: It is a fact of life that people get bored sometimes. The exciting thing about coloring pages is that there are so many different subjects, you should be able to find one that your child is interested in. If your child is into the PBS Kids Dinosaur Train TV show, you may find that they love to color their favorite characters, Buddy, Tiny, Shiny and Don. Kids love to relate to the characters on their and this makes the coloring experience far from boring.
